The Jewish cemetery of Workum (municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân) is the oldest in the Dutch province of Friesland. The land was purchased in 1664 by a man named David Salomons to bury himself and his family there. Six gravestones from the late 17th and early 18th centuries (1676, 1690, 1697, 1706, and 1714) have been preserved. These are among the oldest Jewish gravestones in the Netherlands. As far as can be determined, they are indeed the graves of David Salomons and his relatives. In the 1930s, the cemetery was enclosed by a wall. Since 1999, it has been designated a national monument.
In 1832, the plot was registered with the cadastral designation Workum A 1123.
