Kultuerhús Klameare
Kultuerhús Klameare is a cultural meeting center located in Workum’s old town hall. Daily, the Klameare has many visitors.

You can come here for all kinds of things: pottery and painting courses, various workshops and trainings, music and drama classes, dance, music and cabaret performances and much more. Several clubs have their home in the Klameare, such as 4 choirs, the Workum brass band Crescendo, the chess and checkers club, 2 billiards clubs and the knitting club. The 3 women’s unions hold their meetings for members at the Klameare and Plaatselijk Belang is a loyal visitor to the Klameare by holding all meetings at our place.
Major events are regularly held at the Klameare: from weddings to funerals and from conferences to large parties. Consider the annual Rock & Loll night on Dec. 30 and the prize-giving ceremony of the Strontrace in the fall break.
We give artists from Workum and surrounding areas the opportunity to exhibit on the first floor of the building. The result is a variety of exhibits throughout the year.
The Library resides in the connecting old part of City Hall, and the foyer of the Klameare also serves as the library’s reading café.
